In an increasingly litigious society it is imperative that floorings meet statutory requirements for slip resistance. Whether its a sample tile tested in house, an assessment of a new floor or a treatment of an existing floor, Grip Potential can provide independent expert certification of slip risk.

Floor samples can be tested in house before being laid. This reduces the costly risk of an incorrect surface being specified. Tests conducted in house are typically turned around in 24 hours, a significant reduction on the lengthy lead times of traditional test houses. You'll find our prices a pleasant surprise too.

If you wish to submit a sample for testing you can find further information here.

Treatments of varying effectiveness are available to reduce slip risk. As Grip Potential do not supply such treatments we can remain completely impartial in both the testing and recommendation of treatments. Treatments often claim to reduce slip risk but unless testing is conducted it is impossible to prove results.

Methods employed in Grip Potential's testing are of the highest quality.

BS 7976 tests are conducted strictly to test standards and UKSRG guidelines. All equipment used is as per requirements of the standard and backed up with the relevant UKAS calibration certification. The BS 7976 pendulum test remains the only method expressly recommended by the HSE.

Surface roughness measurements are conducted using a Surtronic Duo roughness meter in accordance with UKSRG guidelines. The instrument is calibrated prior to measurement using a UKAS calibrated plate of known roughness.

Grip Potential do not sell any form of anti-slip solution, thereby excluding themselves from any profit to be made from results. This independent and impartial approach adds credibility to results and ensures recommendations are based on what is right for you, not what makes us the most money.
