We are an independent consultancy and aim to provide unbiased information on the different slip test methods available. We use the Munro Pendulum Skid Tester in our assessments and would recommend it to all seeking an accurate and industry recognised measurement of slip resistance. We employ the BS 7976 pendulum method alongside surface roughness measurement and a holistic risk assessment as we think this provides the most accurate on site assessment possible. We would recommend a similar approach to anyone conducting slip testing for risk assessment, forensic investigation or product testing.

The Pendulum requires a trained operator in order to achieve reliable results and we understand not everyone will be looking to employ Grip Potential's expert consultants for this. All pendulum skid testers are supplied with a full and extensive operation guide to aid compliance to BS 7976, HSE and UK Slip Resistance Group guidelines. Guidance on the classification of slip test results is included, we even supply a results sheet template to ensure all salient data is given due consideration.

All of our test equipment is supplied with the appropriate UKAS calibration documentation and wherever possible the pendulum is delivered by ourselves to ensure it is not damaged in transit.

BS7976-2 pendulum testing remains the HSE and UKSRG's preferred slip testing method used extensively in litigation. Results generated by appropriately trained operators give a definitive measure of the slip resistance of a surface.
