BS EN 13036 describes the use of the Pendulum Skid Tester to measure the skid resistance of road/runway surfaces. Whilst outside the remit of pedestrian slip risk assessment the BS EN 13036 method is very similar to BS 7976. To this end we can offer the same accurate and impartial service that benefits our pedestrian slip risk assessment clients. The pendulum skid tester was widely adopted for the testing of road and runway surfaces shortly after its conception. Road note 27 describes the method of testing and classification of results, the first edition being published in 1960. Whilst there are now a wide range of methods to measure the skid resistance of roads and runways, BS EN 13036 remains a useful addition, particularly for accident investigation. Grip Potential have conducted investigations into the skid resistance of road surfaces and helidecks. To benefit from our fast flexible service and competitive pricing contact us today.
